The Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, signed a decree establishing the Communications Technology Free Zone in Kalba.
The free zone is called Comtech (Sharjah Communication Technologies Free Zone) and will operate under the auspices of the newly created Sharjah Communications Technologies Authority (SCTA).
A favorable tax regime will operate in the free zone: companies and individuals working in Comtech will receive tax exemption for 50 years with the possibility of extension. The only exception will be consumer duties.
The establishment of SCTA and Comtech is part of Sharjah's ambitious strategy to transform the emirate into a global hub for telecommunications, advanced technology and data centers.
This initiative will help attract investment and stimulate innovation in Sharjah's technology sector, creating an enabling environment for local and international companies.
